(White Plains, NY) –Seven of Westchester’s Assemblymembers endorse Westchester County Executive and Democrat Ken Jenkins’ candidacy for County Executive. Their endorsements show continued momentum for Jenkins, and confidence in his ability to lead Westchester County.
Jenkins said: “I am proud to receive the endorsements of our Assembly Delegation. Over the years we have worked together to pass critical legislation in the State Legislature to help every resident of Westchester County. The results of those legislative initiatives speak for themselves, lower taxes, increased funding for flood mitigation, and enhanced services. I look forward to continuing our partnership, and greatly appreciate this vote of confidence.”
NYS Assemblymember Gary Pretlow said: “Ken Jenkins has repeatedly proven that he has the experience, vision, and dedication to lead Westchester County effectively. His decades of public service and his deep connection to the communities he serves have been instrumental in achieving real results for our residents. From his work on initiatives to keep property taxes under control to securing vital funding for infrastructure improvements and social services, Ken has demonstrated that he understands the unique needs of our County. I am proud to endorse him for County Executive and look forward to continuing to work alongside him to advance the priorities of our residents.”
NYS Assemblymember Amy Paulin said: “As a State Assembly Member, I have had the honor of working with Ken Jenkins during his time as a County Legislator and as Deputy County Executive. Ken is a dedicated public servant who knows how to address the needs of Westchester County residents and defend our shared values. There is no candidate more qualified to get to work on day one.”
NYS Assemblymember Steve Otis said: “I am very excited about Ken Jenkins rising to become Westchester’s next County Executive. Ken has been at the center of the great success Westchester County government has achieved over the past seven years. As Deputy County Executive and partner with George Latimer, Ken has been a key part of the team that has improved services, addressed the needs of residents, and brought cutting-edge policies to county programs. This work, and Ken’s long-standing prior service as a County Legislator, Chair of the Board of Legislators, and as a community advocate make him the best person to move Westchester forward. I have worked with Ken over many years. His dedication, experience, and sincerity make him the right choice to lead Westchester’s future. I strongly endorse Ken Jenkins to serve as our next County Executive.”
NYS Assemblymember Nader J. Saygeh said: “Ken Jenkins is most prepared to become our County Executive. His long career as a community activist and government experience have led him to this point. He is not only the most knowledgeable but he has also demonstrated his concern and commitment to the people of Westchester. I wholeheartedly endorse him for County Executive and look forward to our continued working relationship.”
NYS Assemblymember Chris Burdick said: “It is my honor to strongly and unreservedly endorse Ken Jenkins for Westchester County Executive. Ken is eminently qualified. His experience and knowledge are formidable, and he will bring with him to the position the wisdom that comes from years of working on behalf of the people of Westchester. Most importantly, he is compassionate and cares deeply for all those he serves.”
NYS Assemblymember Dana Levenberg said: “Ken Jenkins is without question the most qualified person to be our next County Executive. He is an ubiquitous presence throughout Westchester, always there for us. He is always ready to roll up his sleeves and do what is needed, a quality that was especially evident and appreciated during COVID. Ken’s strategic thinking and problem solving abilities combine with his kindness, warmth, and energy to make him a superlative public servant. Having worked closely with the County Executive’s office for the past few years in my roles as Ossining Town Supervisor and now as a Member of the Assembly, I can say without reservation that we truly could not ask for a better leader to succeed George Latimer in this role.”
NYS Assemblymember MaryJane Shimsky said: “There is no one better prepared to become Westchester’s next County Executive than Ken Jenkins, with his seven years as our Deputy County Executive, eight years as County Legislator (including two terms as Chair), and experience in the private and nonprofit sectors. Ken understands the people in our diverse County, and will bring a well-honed expertise in the many public policy issues that the County must address. This will be critically important in the face of an incoming federal administration poised to make massive cuts in State and local funding. I look to Ken Jenkins to provide the wise leadership we need to make it through these tough times, and you should, too.”
The special election on Tuesday, February 11th, will allow voters to secure the continuity of leadership and progress achieved under the Latimer administration. Early voting begins on Saturday, February 1st.
